This is the best book I ve found for explaining polyvagal theory in practical terms Gives straightforward ways to explain things theory to clients in a context that they can actually make use of. This book is amazing If anyone out there is suffering from nervousness or anxiety, this book will give you a greater understanding of how your system works and gives you tools to help you move forward in being less afraid of what s happening to you from me I have not reviewed a book before on but this book is such a welcome addition to the literature on how to live with and heal trauma held in the body It is very accessible and full of suggestions for ways to help train the vagus autonomic nervous system so that it can learn how to rest in social engagement mode where we rest and digest tend and befriend This is the where we thrive not just survive My background is both professional Gestalt therapy, Professional Focusing Practitioner and Mindfulness teacher and personal having lived with a chronic pain condition resulting from a car accident in 1999 This is the book I would have loved to have found many years ago The Polyvagal Theory Presented In Client Friendly Language Written For All Therapists Who Want To Understand This Groundbreaking Theory As It Might Actually Show Up In Their Day To Day Practice, This Book Offers A Comprehensive Approach To Polyvagal Informed Intervention Worksheets And Experiential Exercises Designed To Map And Shape Autonomic Response Provide Therapists With A Road Map For Bringing Polyvagal Theory Into Their Clinical Practice I have yet to find time to read this but will do soonGood valueDelivered on time
