Great for traditional tales from other cultures Read to 4 5 year olds. Another book I felt I needed to add to my collection as it is a most interesting and well put together piece Am very pleased. My Y2 clas loved this story a good basis to start work on story telling with a multi cultural theme easy to develop use of language and v repetitive which is good for retelling but good as a basis for improving with openers for able pupils A lovely book. I used this book to support teaching a year two class p e and drama Excellent recourse which I would recommend Arrived on time too. The year 2 s I am teaching thoroughly enjoyed this delightful tale about a mischievous rabbit Fire is their topic for the term, so it is particularly relevantthey especially liked the way the fire changed all the animals and were very creative in thinking up their own ways that fire has changed animals An inspiring read Der englische Text ist leicht verst ndlich, die Illustrationen nicht so klein machen Freude Ein sch nes Geschenk mit p dagogischem Wert am Beispiel der Indianer. A really interesting tale of how we all have access to fire and this really captures old cultures belief on how fire spread to the world It s also a good story to use to compare to typical traditional stories from around the world. I bought this book in an effort to find stories for my 4 year old, who has recently learned to read, which will entertain him and at the same time give him a connection to native american culture and nature He loves this book and has in the mean time practically memorized the story word for word Rabbit is a clever mischief maker and has a great plan for bringing fire from the Sky People to the animal people.
